From the Editor in Chief!

Dear Readers!

I am very happy to greet from the electronic pages of our magazine about jazz!

I am proud to say that it is already five years since we began to offer you information about jazz, both within Azerbaijan and beyond its borders. This is difficult but worthwhile work. It is no secret that, these days, survival is not easy for publications, especially for those with a particular theme. We have encountered many problems during this time. Halting the issue of a magazine which had earned a greatly interested readership of different nationalities in nearly half the world, was a heartache for us. I received numerous letters from different parts of the world, including Russia. The writers gave us their sincere impressions and wished us success. Several jazz magazines are published in the post-Soviet area – ours is one of them. It is true that not all developed countries see the publication of jazz magazines; in fact not all of them have a history of jazz.

Anyway, we have a right to be proud. I am very happy that today we restore this magazine’s circulation and, from now on, there will be regular editions. This is because we have something to say. As before, Baku continues to have a life of jazz. Of course, things do not always progress as smoothly, or at the level, we would wish. We have, however, new successes and gains and there are themes for discussion and debate. I must admit that this magazine is very dear to me, this is why I will continue this work with special determination. I send you my best regards and say: Jazz –music of the soul, don’t desert it!
