KATYA SOURIKOVA

Katya Sourikova - Piano
Katya Sourikova was born in Saint Petersburg. She studied at two of London's finest music conservatories - the Guildhall School of music and the Royal College of music. As a pianist and composer, her long-term ambition is to explore ways of combining the jazz and classical idioms.

Katya has recorded for the BBC world service and performed at the Edinburgh festival in Scotland. She is also a composer for multimedia, and is currently scoring music for the forthcoming film "Miss Russia" in London.
Katya can often be spotted making surprise on-stage appearances at various jazz clubs around the world where she loves to share her ideas and soak up the local flavours.

Ivan Bamford - Drums
Ivan Bamford was born in Vancouver and has been listening to jazz since he was a baby when his dad would put Coltrane, Dave Holland, Keith Jarrett or Anthony Braxton on the stereo.

He later studied jazz in Vancouver and was especially keen on the vibrant free jazz community in Vancouver. In 2001 he moved to Montreal where he has become involved in numerous projects in several different styles including jazz, klezmer/tzigane, medieval and a touch of pop.
He feels comfortable in almost any style, but likes to focus on the more experimental jazz of today.

Remi-Jean LeBlanc - Bass
Remi-Jean LeBlanc was born in Atlantic Canada and has been playing music professionally since 1999. Before moving to Montreal, he toured across Canada as well as a short stint in France with several East Coast jazz groups.

In Montreal, Remi has found a definite voice and place in the Montreal and Canadian music scene. He is presently working with some of Canada's most notorious musicians such as Michel Donato, Pierre Tanguay, Chris McCann, Greg Amirault and Ron Di Lauro.
